We are a place for family caregivers of loved ones with any chronic illness or disease to get much needed education, empowerment and energy for their frequently overwhelming challenges. Caregivers are often depressed, stressed and depleted. We're here to remind them to "Take Your Oxygen First".

I received this beautiful poem written by a caregiver who visited our Leeza's Place center at Circle of Care in Sherman Oaks. I hope Patti's words offer comfort and care as it did for me.
Thanks Patti for letting me share this...
A Poem for Leeza's Place
by: Patti North
Leeza’s Place puts a smile on my face.
You give me hope when I can’t seem to cope.
You show me the light, when all seems so dark.
Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart.
You made me smile when skies were gray.
And gave me strength to face the new day.
There are not the right words to really say how I feel.
Because you mean so much.
Just know each night that I lay down to sleep.
I thank God for Leeza’s Place a bunch!

Joyce Kennedy and Sue Coates, our amazing Care Advocates at Health First Leeza's Place in Melbourne, FL, sent us a report from their recent "Priceless Pampering Party" they put on with the help of the Paul Mitchell Schools! Here is a lovely summary of the day written by Joyce Kennedy...
Another AMAZING DAY and uplifting experience at Leeza’s Place Melbourne, Florida! We had no idea what to expect at our “Priceless Pampering Party” on Wednesday, April 1st, but…. Boy, was it spectacular! Leeza’s Place looked like a First Class Beauty Salon…with salon stations, music, candles, coffee and ‘goodies’…and even John Travolta’s “Hairspray” playing in the background.
John Paul DeJoria and Winn Claybaugh would have been so proud of the Design Team of Paul Mitchell The School Orlando -what a great group of young professionals! They had so much energy, compassion and enthusiasm… and what “Shear Pleasure” and “Joy” they brought to our caregivers and loved ones.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., over 70 caregivers and loved ones moved from station to station to get pampered with hair cuts, facials, manicures, hand, neck and back massages. The looks on their faces were “priceless”…wait until you see the pictures…words cannot do the day justice.
One loved one, suffering from Parkinson disease and having limited ability to communicate, received the full treatment from the Design Team. The look on his face was worth a thousand words. As they concluded with a relaxing back massage, this sweet man…who can hardly speak, let out a cheer of delight that had us all holding back the tears.
Several husbands, whose wives have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, accompanied their wives from station to station, looking so proud as their wives were transformed with new haircuts, facials, manicures and make-up…making quite the Cinderella Story at Leeza’s Place!
Sara Seber, the Admissions Director of Paul Mitchell The School Orlando, did an outstanding job of coordinating the Day’s event and coaching her Design Team in an effortless fashion. They were so dedicated it was difficult getting them to take a break to enjoy the lunch we had prepared for them! It’s obvious their concept of ‘giving back’ is deeply imbedded in their hearts and souls. What a blessing it was meeting all of them and hosting this incredible event.
We are deeply grateful to all the Paul Mitchell people for giving our families this treat of a lifetime. Sara is already looking forward to coming back in November when we celebrate National Caregivers Appreciation Month… and we will be counting the days for their return!
With love and gratitude,
Joyce
