HEAL YOUR LIFE
My Exclusive Interview with Dr. Jonathan Sackier
Dr. Jonathan Sackier trained as a surgeon in Britain and is Professor of Medicine & Surgery at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He has been an innovator in many areas of medicine and has published over 120 scientific articles, seven books and contributed chapters to 36 medical text books. His new book for the general public, “Real Well; Reclaim the Ease, from Dis-ease” is due in the near future. He has served multiple journals as editor or reviewer, been involved in medical societies at the highest level and has lectured and been honored for his work in many countries.
Jonathan has developed technologies to help patients from very early work in the 1980’s in stem cells to the first robot to see use in the operating room. He has always been a fervent advocate for wellness and patients rights and has developed corporate and personal regimes to help people not only live longer, but live better and his talks on this topic have been widely sought.
A frequent commentator in the media, Jonathan has been a guest on radio and television many times to discuss various healthcare issues. In the mid-1990’s he hosted a television magazine program “Health and Wellness” aimed at a senior audience for the Goodlife Cable TV network and helped develop a number of high-profile patient interfacing campaigns including the hugely successful Carnie Wilson web-cast and public relations initiative which drove increased attention to bariatric surgery as an option for the management of morbid obesity.
His credo has always been to “embrace all that life has to offer, for one spends a long time dead”!
